Who's Behind the Fence?

'Who's Behind the Fence?' is a public artwork that encourages viewers to envision the lives and activities concealed behind the ‘fences’ of industrial & commercial developments.

 

The project was commissioned by PC Urban and is located on the edge of a industrial complex in Langford, British Columbia. Due to their nature and design, it is easy to drive or walk past these types of buildings not reflecting on the diverse businesses, activities and more importantly people that work and exist within.

 

One can imagine each of these faces seemingly coming out beyond the ‘fence’ have a unique story as to why they are there and what they do. This artwork is intended to showcase the human aspect of these developments - giving the viewer a glimpse of ‘Who’s behind the fence’.
